Position Function

Responsible for supervising the day to day operations of assigned imaging sections. This includes providing direct supervision to assigned staff and overseeing daily operations to ensure that consistent quality patient care and imaging services are provided. Accountable for the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance programs and regulatory compliance. Assists in preparation of budgets and fiscal responsibilities to include accountability for FTE utilization and ordering of supplies. Also functions as a staff sonographer as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Graduate of an AMA approved school of Ultrasound.

Minimum Experience:

3 - 5 years experience as sonographer with a minimum of 1 year experience in supervisory or

lead role preferred. Experience and competency with PACS preferred.

Minimum skills/abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication skills to facilitate efficient and courteous communications with patients and hospital staff.

Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology and imaging procedures.

Strong problem resolution skills.

Certification/Licensure:

Certification by the ARRT or RDMS for Ultrasound required.

Current CPR certification required.

Required CEU hours must be obtained to maintain state licensure and national registration.
