Sets up the three pot sink properly to insure clean and sanitized items. Sets up, operates, breaks down, sanitizes and assemble dish machine daily. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Sets up the dish machine and three pot sink daily and insures that detergent is in place and machine is operating properly. Washes pots, pans and all other cooking and service equipment and stores in proper place.2. Collects and empties trash from the kitchen, serving area and cafeteria throughout the day. Brings trash to the compactor at scheduled times or as needed.3. Wash floors, walls, and clean and sanitize store rooms, waste receptacles and refrigerators as scheduled or as needed.4. Assists in the receiving and storage of all items that come into the kitchen.5. Assists in special cleaning projects under the direction of the chef.6. When needed will assist cooks in food preparation, such as, cutting vegetables, dicing and measuring vegetables etc.7. Maintains a safe, clean and sanitized work area and kitchen equipment according to department standards..8. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patients served in the department. RequirementsStands the entire shift and may have to lift up to 40 pounds.High school graduate or equivalent. 1 year of food service experience helpful
