Job Description
This exciting opportunity within Fidelitys Personal, Workplace and Institutional Services (PWIS) Planning Office will be supporting the market and competitive analysis area. The prospective candidate will partner with cross-Fidelity business units to analyze the markets in which PWIS competes and the companies with which PWIS competes.
The prospective candidate will report into the Vice President of PWIS Market and Competitive Analysis. As a member of the PWIS Market and Competitive Analysis team, the successful associate will focus primarily on quantitative analysis of PWISs markets, providing financial analytics and reporting related to the relative performance of the PWIS business units vs. key competitors, coordinating cross PWIS- market and competitive analytic efforts, and supporting PWIS strategic planning activities, while working with senior leaders across PWIS.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collect, maintain, improve and analyze competitor financial and statistical results; perform variance analysis vs. past trends and against Fidelity comparable results
- Identify, understand, monitor and report on key marketplace/industry developments and trends affecting PWIS
- Participate in ad-hoc analytics to help further the PWIS Sr. Leadership teams knowledge of competitors and marketplace trends
- Build robust quarterly competitive reporting package for the PWIS Sr. Leadership team
- Manage market share updates, analytics and market trends, including working with business partners to update market projections
- Prepare, improve, maintain and distribute key market share metrics including, but not limited to, trading, mutual fund and margin
- Participate in the multi-year and annual planning process by providing marketplace & competitive analytical and qualitative support for presentations to the PWIS Sr. Leadership team
- Monitor and analyze breaking industry and competitor news; stay abreast of changing marketplace trends
- Maintain and improve website designed for Sr. Leadership updates and education related to competitors and industry trends
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- 3+ years experience in financial analysis or accounting preferred
- Knowledge of financial services industry
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and relationship databases
Skills and Knowledge
- Highly motivated with strong intellectual curiosity
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization
- Effective verbal and written communications/presentation skills
