RN - – Nursing Home/Long-term Care RN

Job Description

We are seeking RN / Part Time and Per Diem to provide high-quality nursing care on our LTC, Alzheimer, and Post Acute Units to our patients in accordance with their individual care plans and all applicable regulations. As an RN / LPN  with Wingate Healthcare, you will monitor nursing assistants and health service aides, complete and document comprehensive nursing assessments of patient health statuses and address changes in their conditions.

Additional tasks of the RN / LPN include:

• Developing and implementing nursing care plans
• Providing and documenting observations and delivery of care according to established guidelines
• Accurately transcribing and implementing authorized healthcare professionals’ orders
• Accurately administering and documenting medication and treatments
• Evaluating patient responses to interventions and the effectiveness of nursing care plans
• Responding appropriately to emergencies and protecting residents and staff from accidents by following safety procedures

Job Responsibilities

As an Nurse with Wingate Healthcare, you will advocate for the residents in your care while you communicate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals. You will provide and document resident and family education and maintain a neat and orderly care environment. You will also participate in the development of policies, procedures and systems that support resident care and safety.

Additional responsibilities of the RN / LPNinclude:

• Monitoring health service aides and nursing assistants to ensure that they provide proper care and services to residents and responding to problems with resident care accordingly
• Providing direct input to the evaluation and corrective action plan processes
• Responding to staff concerns and personnel emergencies in accordance with our policies
• Helping to maintain the department budget through the appropriate monitoring and usage of supplies and reporting discrepancies to Nurse Leaders
• Assisting with the orientation and ongoing mentorship of nursing colleagues
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing or the nurse leader

Job Requirements

As a Nurse with Wingate Healthcare, you must be patient, cheerful and enthusiastic. Our ideal Nurse is a supportive team member who cooperates with nursing staff and other personnel to provide great patient care.

Additional requirements for the RN Registered Nurse include:

• Graduate of an approved Nursing program
• Valid RN  or LPN license
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and carry such weight at least 25 feet
