We currently have an opening for a Strategic Account Manager. This position will report to the Region Sales Manager. Work location flexible (can be located in one of the follow areas: New York; New Jersey; Boston; Colorado; Ohio), as position requires travel.
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to development of detailed sales and profitability plan for the assigned accounts.
- Identifies new opportunities for market growth at Key Accounts.
- Ensures the execution of the sales, expenses and profitability targets established by the sBU for the Key Accounts in his/her region by developing as well as maintaining profitable, long-term relationships with the designated customers.
- Achieves significant selling milestones in the form of major new accounts and additions to business.
- Develops sales relationships and provides a level of service which differentiates AkzoNobel in the marketplace.
- Influences customer on pricing and terms.
- Develops functional excellence processes of regional Key Account management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a science or business related field required.
- 7 10 years experience in National sales role.
- Must be able to travel.
- Understanding of Key Account needs and values & ability to articulate company propositions to address new business opportunities for our products.
- Drive for results, with strong negotiation and commercial selling skills. Strong result focus.
- Must be very comfortable working with customers (external) and (internal) at various levels; able to build long term relationships and effectively influence these individuals
- Drive for process excellence with strong understanding of benchmarks concepts and practices in Key Account management.
