Senior Manager, HR Strategy at Framingham

Job Description

Position summary:


Staples success relies on the quality & strength of our Associates & Leaders. Ensuring that our Associates & Leaders have the necessary skills and abilities to operate in todays competitive environment requires comprehensive and well executed talent management programs. To that end, the Senior Manager of HR Strategy will own the Talent Management strategy, processes, and tools for the US Retail Technology businesses products & services. Areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to Performance Assessments, Performance Expectations, Development Programs, Career Pathing, Compensation Strategy & Recognition.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Technology business partners on determining the HR strategy & prioritizing HR work impacting the Technology Associates in our stores
  • Develop robust development programs for candidates at various stages of the associate lifecycle (rising internals, newly hired internals, newly hired externals, and tenured in role). Determine assessment tools & process used to select candidates for these positions
  • Conduct on-going in depth analyses to identify areas working well and those needing to be addressed. Continue to monitor key metrics post-launch of new programs/processes to ensure ongoing effectiveness
  • Partner with Home Office business partners, Field Operators, Field HR, Corporate HR & NAD to determine on-going needs of the Technology Associates and evaluate impact of new programs/initiatives on these key roles
  • Consider opportunities to streamline work across other roles in US Retail and leverage materials/programs from other SBUs, specifically NAD Contract organization
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with business leaders, Field leaders & HR to ensure all are on board with approach (during development phases to solicit feedback/gain buy in as well as on-going)

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
Basic:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum 7 yearsexperience in Human Resources Strategy ( Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Generalist) OR Strategy

Preferred:

  • MBA preferred
  • Ability to build strong relationships with business partners; establish credibility
  • Effective Communication skills
  • Project management experience
  • Critical thinking/problem solving ability
  • Strategic Insight
  • Prior HR experience preferred, but not required
  • Experience in curriculum development
