Database Administrator/ETL Developer at Holyoke

The position is responsible for design, development and maintenance of Data Integration/ETL processes in Enterprise Business Intelligence environment. Also responsible for development DBA activities in enterprise Oracle databases supporting various projects.

Responsibilities Include :

Design, development and maintenance of data integration/ETL processes

• Work with data architects, tech lead and database administrators to design the ETL processes
• Design, develop and test the ETL views
• Design, develop and test the data integration code using the ETL platform
• Prepare database environment and execute ETL programs to load the data in test environments to support BI/DW projects

Development DBA Activities

• Maintain database object creation and build scripts in code versioning system (CVS)
• Merge and maintain the scripts in CVS branches and trunk
• General schema support and troubleshooting for Developers
• Assist developers and other engineers to understand and implement the corporate security and configuration management policies/procedures in developing software
• Co-ordinate the setup of development and full size test environments for Enterprise projects and releases

Database and application performance tuning

• Analyze and recommend solutions for tuning issues in databases, queries and data integration procedures
• Develop alternatives to solve the tuning issues including SQL profiles, SQL modification

Production Support of data integration/ETL processes

• Production deployment of data integration/ETL code
• Analysis and debugging of the production deployments

Job Requirements:

Data Integration/Database Application Development Experience (3 5 years)

• Experience with ETL tools like Oracle Data Integrator, Informatica or Data Stage
• Experience in data integration using data bridges or other custom approaches
• Application development that leverages DBMSs such as Oracle
• Experience in data analysis
• Software development experience in large projects
• Experience with the design and tuning of complex SQL statements

Database Administration Experience (2 - 3 years)

• Experience in supporting Oracle databases including data warehouses
• Setup and manage development and test database schemas
• Develop scripts and load the data to help supporting the testing

Other Competencies :

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines

Desirable Skills :

• Experience in data modeling using tools like ERWin/ERStudio
• Production Support experience in enterprise class applications
