Sr. Infrastructure Engineer at Boston

Job Description

Provide expertise for design and support of the Exchange, Lync and Sharepoint enterprise integration management systems running in the public cloud solution. Support the ADFS and Directory Synchronization between the cloud and local premise security systems. Provide guidance in the development of infrastructure requirements with business, application architecture group, and solution teams; ensure the seamless integration and synchronization of business applications, security, and infrastructure technologies. Lead the introduction of new/incoming technology projects into production; manage integration management systems for system availability, administration, operational processes, vendor management, and best practices across the enterprise.

Responsible for team leadership on production support, design, planning, implementation, functional testing, troubleshooting, and protection of corporate assets. Involves proactive monitoring of equipment and systems to support both existing and new applications. May include security/performance monitoring, configuration management, issue escalation and resolution, systems engineering, administration, security documentation, and strategic technical planning.

Exchange, Lync, Sharepoint Administration manage all aspects including:

Manage and maintain intranet sites and sub-sites, manage site security, site standards, layout structure and content, and system security for SharePoint 2010

Utilize in-depth understanding of the capabilities of SharePoint 2010, SharePoint templates (site and list templates), web parts development, workflow and content management

Apply document and content management expertise to establish, organize and manage documents within controlled libraries

Develop policies to facilitate proper document management, storage and control

Provide the appropriate level of business analysis and business process understanding in order to assist various levels of the organization in leveraging the most effective methods of SharePoint

Provide first level support to resolve technical issues on SharePoint 2010

Work with IT developers to configure and administer the SharePoint Sites

Monitor and ensure appropriate availability, reliability, performance of the cloud environment; escalate any issues and work with appropriate technical support teams

Participate on conversions of any collaboration applications to Sharepoint

Participate in planning and execution of tasks related to upgrades, patching, changes that are part of or integrated with this environment.

Develop, configure and maintain document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections.

Perform typical system administration activities such as site creation, user training, backup/restore, ID builds, Distribution List builds, TLS additions, issue resolution, etc.

Develop and help users develop InfoPath forms

Creation, deletion and maintenance of end-user accounts, distribution lists, and mailbox permissions across the organization.

Perform daily system health checks and address issues as they arise.

Point of contact to system users and IT Helpdesks for Outlook and MS Exchange issues, email related requests and administrative tasks, Sharepoint and Lync issues or administrative tasks.

Coordinate software and Exchange Database, Sharepoint, Lync changes with Production Management.

Actively participate in strategic activities such as design testing, definition, review, and development of project and testing plans as needed.

  • Requires 7-10 years of related Exchange, Sharepoint, Lync, Active Directory, networking, security, or infrastructure experience.
  • Must be able to analyze raw results, determine/resolve bottlenecks, and create meaningful documentation of testing scenarios and results
  • Experience working with a cloud deployment of Exchange, Sharepoing and Lync that interfaces back to local on premise security applications
  • Troubleshooting experience pertaining to forms of integration management, security, and application issues.
  • Experience with medium sized technical projects, with demonstrated oral and written ability to communicate with team members. Must know when to ask for assistance, and when to give assistance. Must be approachable, teachable, a team player with a strong desire to improve the operational efficiency of our organizations integration management infrastructure.
  • Willingness to work beyond core business hours, if necessary to minimize business interruption during planned or unplanned security system modifications.
  • Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize, launch and deliver technology projects on time and within budget, following SDLC standards.
  • Knowledge of sourcing methodologies, operating models and working with professional services firms.
