Job Description
Candidate will be a key member of the QA team responsible for testing our Modernization project application .You will write test plans and define test strategies and test cases for new features, enhancements and defect fixes. In addition you will run and analyze automated tests results, generate test data and improve test coverage based on test plans.
Essential Job Functions:
This position will report to QA/CM Manager and includes but is not limited to:
•Develop test plans/cases within an agile framework from requirements; define methodologies, pass/fail criteria, risk assessments and assumptions
• Create and maintain technical documentation repository and traceability matrix
•Lead project testing activities including definition of test plans, test & automation strategies, staffing requirements, task tracking, and risk assessments
•Identify problems, issues, collect and integrate information from a variety of sources to establish a course of action and communicate issues and solutions clearly and concisely
•Identify critical activities & tasks on projects; contribute beyond assigned tasks; adjust priorities when appropriate
•Contribute to project success by providing technical ideas, strategies, process/procedural suggestions & removing obstacles
•Assist in project management activities: Estimation, Scheduling, Planning, Tracking progress
•Actively participate in establishing project and sprint plans, estimating work and monitoring progress against milestones
•Identify and communicate necessary test verification points and additional test tool requirements during product design and development phases
Job Requirements
• Research new features and technologies for analysis and implementation. Perform feasibility studies on new technology, tools and product concepts.
• Develop manual and automated test scripts for regression of existing functionality, bug isolation and new functionality.
• Interact with software engineers to test software changes and defect resolutions.
• Design and help to develop test tools, simulators, and test harnesses.
• Provide training, assistance and guidance to other team members, delegating and assigning work as applicable.
• Review current practices and become proficient with existing regression test suites while executing on product roadmap. Provide input on and contribute to efforts to improve test planning and automation.
- Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline
- At least 7 years with experience testing and developing software, including installation, test automation, and test plan documentation.
- Working with .NET and Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 is a plus
- Experience with SoapUI, web services, XML, SQL
- A minimum of three years’ experience with Java, C#, or C++
- Proficiency with SQL Server
- Experience with CM, build management and continuous integration.
- Experience with the Performance testing design, implementation and reporting.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is a plus.
Knowledge of the following tools, technologies, and concepts is extremely helpful:
• QTP - automation, including developing frameworks
• LoadRunner, - performance/scalability testing tools
• Microsoft Test Manager - test plan and test case development, management, and reporting
• Microsoft CodedUI - test case automation
- Ability to travel locally for activities such as meetings, classes, and workshops.
- Must be able to travel occasional by air as needed to attend training, conferences, and related activities.
- Travel will be required both domestically and internationally; should not exceed 10% of the time
Working Conditions, such as:
- General office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
Physical Demands, such as:
- Office environment where the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. Some walking, standing, bending, reaching, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.
Must be a US Citizen, without dual Citizenship.
