Job Description

Marlborough, MAData Analyst This is a contract position within the Commercial Operations function of a life sciences organization. The Data Analyst will be responsible for tasks associated with the analysis, design and testing.  Key objectives include:• Review all lifecycle deliverables to ensure they map and support the project requirements;• Identify, research, and analyze data / reporting issues in order to develop solutions;• Perform root cause analysis of issues including debugging ETL code;• Support the development team’s detailed design activities;• Experienced in eliciting, defining, writing, and managing business specifications, technicalspecifications, and other project documentation for applications development;• Drive and assists with data analysis to improve operation including uncovering dataanomalies and performing research of other forms of key operational data;• Create ad]hoc extracts/reports using various tools to meet both internal needs and externalrequests;• Working knowledge of ETL tools and Internet]based technologies, reporting tools, andclient/server]based applications is highly desirable Required Qualifications:• Strong analytical and problem solving skills;• Working knowledge of stored procedures, tables and views;• Experience in data warehousing technologies;• Prepare design specifications for data objects, layouts and system interfaces(extract & load);• Document a trace matrix that maps requirements to design;• Review design specifications to ensure that requirements are addressed;• Prepare testing scripts for interfaces, data loading procedures and workflow processes;• Document a trace matrix that maps both requirements/design to test scripts/cases;• Execute unit and system level testing scripts;• Prepare UAT test scripts and guide business users in execution of UAT scripts;• Skills equivalent to 6]10 years in comparable position;
