About the Position:
The mission of the U.S. Army Garrison - Natick (USAG-N) is to provide the Natick Soldier Systems Center with the base operations capabilities and services to support the installation tenants expeditionary operations in a time of persistent conflict, and to provide a quality of life for Soldier & Families commensurate with their service.

As a Government Information Specialist for the Natick Soldier Systems Center, Garrison, you will:
· Serve as the Freedom of Information (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) Specialist
· Coordinate, collaborate, create and review all FOIA and PA correspondence and requests for the installation to ensure that the completion and processing of FOIA and PA requests adhere to FOIA and PA legal statute, regulations, and policy
· Provide technical guidance to managers on the FOIA and PA programs and review organizations FOIA and PA practices to identify any methods that are outside what is permitted by current regulation and policy
· Serve as a Records Management Assistant
· Assist in the daily operations of the Garrison records management program and subprograms
· Assist in the assurance that all policies, guidelines, directives, are current and the handling, distribution and storage of records adhere to regulation and local policy
· Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Back to topApplicants may qualify for this position with experience, education, or a combination of education and experience.
General Experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of general work experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates the following: 1) Experience researching, analyzing, and responding to technical external questions; 2) Experience preparing formal correspondence that articulates sensitive information and adheres to local policy and/or regulations; 3) Experience understanding and relaying the legal interpretation of laws, regulations, and policy; and 4) Experience serving as a point of contact for complex technical information requests & questions that involve legal and policy interpretation.

Education: (a) A Masters or equivalent graduate degree; (b) Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or (c) An LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
A combination of specialized experience and education. When combining education with experience, first determine the total qualifying education as a percentage of the education required; then determine experience as a percentage of the experience required; finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.
