Job Description
Chemical EngineerThis individual will work with a group of scientists and engineers to provide continuous process improvements and cGMP manufacturing technical support for the downstream purification processes of the commercial products group. The scope of work will include executing experiements and data analysis to support GMP investigations and manufacturing change controls and to reduce recurring deviations. The focus of the work will be downstream unit operations such as column chromatography, harvest clarification, TFF, and normal flow filtration. This individual will interact extensively with other departments .
Responsibilities
Execute experiments and perform data analysis aimed at reducing reocurring deviations and improving the process.
Provide technical assignments and support root cause analysis during GMP investigations .
Write study proposals, research and development reports, and various technical memos
Education and Experience Requirements
BS in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry/Protein Chemistry or related disciplines with 0-2 years relevant experience in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical environment is required. Experience with colum chromatography and TFF is required
Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
Must have hands-on downstream process development experience
Be able to work independently and on cross-functional teams. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Complexity and Problem Solving
This individual will independently execute experiments, perform data analysis and suggest technical solutiongs based upon the data analysis. This individual will work on several different projects and will prioritze these projects with guidance
Internal and External Contacts
This individual will represent PDCS while supporting our commercial processes. This individual will have close internal interactions with PD, manufacturing, MTS, QA, RA, and QC. Externally, this individual will interact with vendors who will supplu materials, equipment or training.
