Position Overview
As part of the Product, Marketing and Implementation team, the Product Manager is responsible for contributing to the delivery of quality products to customers by understanding and contributing to product strategy, understanding industry, market and customer needs, supporting business cases, developing business requirements, and supporting product development and deployment. The Product Manager serves as a business knowledge lead and key advisor for the requirements process on complex projects within ActionsXchange. Work may include documentation as well as analysis of data and industry intelligence for trends, issues, etc. and the design and development of solutions to support product management processes and measurement activities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Performs a leadership role in creating business cases (annual and multiyear) in support of ActionsXchange product offering enhancements and evolution, including economics, business and financial cases, market analyses, and competitive intelligence
  • Participates in annual business planning activities including defining and prioritization of key product capabilities
  • Monitors the industry and competitive landscape to adapt product offering and processes to enhance effectiveness and competitiveness over time
  • Responsible for providing detailed product definition for new capabilities and working with key functional teams to define requirements and priorities for product enhancements and client-related requests
  • Provides leadership through the understanding of the project life cycle and business needs; works closely with the project team to determine project tasks, estimates, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Monitors, resolves or escalates project interdependencies, both internal and external to ActionsXchange; provides insight and input on project plan management and monitors progress against plan.

Job Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the global markets and financial services, with specific corporate actions domain experience
  • Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, economics or marketing or the equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated product management and/or product development skills applied to challenging client or technically oriented projects
  • Strong leadership qualities, able to influence and champion ideas effectively in a highly matrix-managed environment, and across multiple and diverse groups
  • Strong strategic analysis capability with the ability to analyze business systems and/or business processes to identify user needs, document requirements, and address operation/process issues/improvements to accomplish business objectives.
  • Detail oriented and effective at documenting key project requirements and overseeing projects at key milestones where decisions are needed to keep projects on schedule as new unexpected circumstances arise
  • Demonstrated experience in translating business requirements to technical resources (internal and external) in supporting the project - strong documentation skills
  • Extensive experience in written communications, and ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation; Strong communication, presentation and product management skills are essential to success; active listening that creates clarity, focus, and alignment through communication
  • Works effectively with unstructured teams, situations, or environments through strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • 7-10 years work experience in financial services, specifically with corporate actions and SWIFT market practices experience; experience with Agile Development Lifecycle preferred
  • Business Analysis certification (CBAP) a plus
