Reports to: Vice President of Human Resources
Position Summary:
This key leadership position provides an opportunity to become an integral member of the Human Resources Department. The Director of Training will be responsible for a broad range of responsibilities including setting, communicating, and executing the strategic direction for training and development that meets the needs of the current and future organization, its management and employees, and links them to the Mission, Vision and Values of Unidine. The successful candidate will have an exceptional working knowledge of all culinary, hospitality and management systems with an in depth working knowledge of HR disciplines and training programs. Candidate must be a customer-focused team player, well organized, have outstanding executive presence including excellent communication and follow through skills.
Essential Functions and Key Tasks:
- Assess total development needs to drive training initiatives
- Actively search, design and implement effective methods to educate, enhance performance and increase productivity
- Plan, develop and roll out training and team member development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences and workshops
- Create, organize and deliver training manuals and other development tools from design to delivery and throughout the lifecycle of the curriculum
- Work with Human Resources and Operations leadership teams to facilitate Operations, Corporate Talent and Succession Planning processes
- Work with Vice Presidents and Operations leaders to mentor new management trainees through the development process including testing, certification and succession planning
- Program assessment and evaluation including communicating with senior management the effectiveness of the program and ensuring maximum impact of all training and development initiatives
- Finding, assessing and developing Centers of Excellence for implementing training processes
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree, preferably in Organizational Development. Masters degree preferred
Experience:
- Successful candidate must have 5-7 years of experience in food and dining services management with a specific focus in a contract management or hospitality environment
- 3-5 years of hands on training experience including the creation and implementation of industry training and development programs
- Must possess strong business acumen along with solid judgment, relationship management and critical thinking skills as this person will work with a diverse group of team members
PC Skills:
Position requires working knowledge of the following applications: MS Office (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, data base management).
Other:
