Sr. SQL Database administrator at Boston

Job Description

Immediate, 10+ months need in Boston for a SQL DBA.

In this capacity the Sr. Database Administrator will perform the following tasks:
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server software and related products
Migration of SQL Server databases from one server to another server
Applying Service Packs, patches and hot fixes to SQL Server
Monitoring SQL server and Operation System health
Evaluate Microsoft SQL Server features and Microsoft SQL Server related products
Evaluate other outside applications as they apply to SQL Server
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
Assist Developers with Database design and implementation of that design
Establishing and enforcing Standards
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
Database tuning and performance monitoring
Assisting with application tuning and performance monitoring
Setup and maintain documentation of any implementation and changes
Plan growth and changes for RDBM Systems (capacity planning)
Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when scheduled in advance
Do general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
Interface with Microsoft for technical support based on our support level
ITIL Skill see requirements (Problem Management/Incident Management/Chain Management etc)

Education Required:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field plus a minimum of 7 years work experience.
