SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER – SAAS APPLICATION DEVELOPER (CORE JAVA)

The Select Group is hiring for a full-time Senior Software Engineer opening with a dynamic commercial SaaS company headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts. If you have experience in the design and development of complex commercial web based software products utilizing the latest core Java technologies please take a moment and look over the below requirements.  

Senior Software Engineer responsibilities:

• Serve as a senior team member on a development team, recognized within the development organization as a technical expert in one or more key areas of technology.
• As a Senior Software Engineer you will work with latitude and autonomy. You will be directly responsible for the design and implementation of one or more products or sub-products within the commercial SaaS suite.
• Work autonomously on significant development projects; providing critical development expertise (specifications, design, creation, maintenance and quality).
• Dynamically contribute to the development and delivery of software application functionality, assisting in architecture concepts and providing high-level designs of significant portions of the software applications (software platform, detailed designs and code implementation, and supporting process improvement initiatives).
• Participate in design reviews/code reviews within the organization, able to work across functional areas (Services, Support, etc.)

Job Requirements

Senior Software Engineer domain requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Ideally, proven commercial software application experience and software engineering expertise within a robust enterprise product suite.
• In-depth experience developing software components in a distributed web-based environment (including cloud based software-as-a-service configurations) and mobile technologies.
• Strong experience with data integration and data feeds from large complex enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as Peoplesoft, Oracle, or SAP.

Senior Software Engineer technical requirements:

• Technical expertise and experience with the following:
• Java / J2EE development
• Strong experience with J2EE patters and strong Java skills, including working knowledge of core libraries, design patterns
  • Struts, JSP, EJB, XSLT, XML, Spring, GWT, Servlets, Hibernate, etc.
  • Multi-tier/Service Oriented Architecture including knowledge of Oracle 10, Tomcat, and web services
  • Tuning SQL Queries with complex business logic. Solid knowledge of joins, views, triggers, stored procedures, and data normalization.
  • Front-end technologies including JSTL, Javascript, CSS, HTML, DHTML, JSON, AJAX, etc.
