Job Description

JOB TITLE:  Psychotropic Drug Intervention Program (PDIP) / Quality Lead Coordinator

 

DEPARTMENT:    Corporate

SUPERVISOR/REPORT TO:  Assistant Director – PDIP and BHS Director of Quality

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The PDIP / Quality Coordinator is responsible for the administration of the activities associated with the quality pharmacy initiatives provided out of the PDIP to meet NCQA Quality Improvement requirements. These include those QI activities that are designed to directly impact specific HEDIS® scores as well as other pharmacy based quality initiatives. This position has dual reporting responsibilities to both the Assistant Director of PDIP and the BHS Director of Quality (or designee).

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Knowledge of HEDIS©  BH measures  for Antidepressant Medication Management (AMM) and Attention Deficient Disorder (ADD)
  • Under the direction of the Director of Quality and program specific QI teams ensure these programs are consistent with these measures
  • Ensure the quality of the  HEDIS©  and AMM and ADD outreach programs   by continuous monitoring, identifying problems and within the context of the QI teams  make changes for quality improvement
  • Responsible for implementing and monitoring the non-clinical aspects of the AMM and ADD  Member Outreach Program across all contracts
  • Provide new staff training for  HEDIS© Member Outreach Programs and verify competency through testing
  • Participate in all QIA processes related to HEDIS©  quality programming including committee participation and work plan development
  • Participate in health plan specific meetings to discuss the Beacon quality pharmacy programs and coordinate quality related reporting and ad-hoc requests by health plans.
  • Ensure quality testing is adequately conducted and successfully completed by PDIP’s clinical team for:
  • New plan implementations of existing or modified algorithms for the HEDIS© quality programs
  • New HEDIS© quality program product or new reporting programs
  • Resolution of any identified problems of HEDIS© quality programs fixed by the BI team or PDIP’s analytics team
  • Participate in the design and development of innovative quality pharmacy programs such as the Medication Safety and Quality (MSQ) programs for seniors, children/adolescents and others as determined by the PDIP Director
  • As volume increases and as determined by the Director of PDIP, lead a team of coordinators in ensuring program integrity across contracts
  • Collaborate with both the Quality and PDIP departments analysts in the evaluation of the programs
  • Other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree social work, psychology, or health care / customer service) or related field
    • 2 years’ experience in customer service  
    • Experience in engaging individuals on the phone for program participation

     

     

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Good organizational and communication skills
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Ability to function independently and as a team member

     

    SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

    None

     

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

    Weekly or as needed by Assistant Director of PDIP and Director of Quality Management  

     

    WORKING CONDITION:   General office environment, some travel required.
