Position Overview:
The Senior Manager, Donor Engagement will be an integral part of a team whose responsibility is to strengthen the United Way’s relationship with the Private Equity/Venture Capital (PE/VC) industry. This Senior Manager should have the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and the ability to easily build strong and effective relationships with internal and external constituents.

The Senior Manager will determine the engagement needs of corporate and individual donors and partner with the Volunteer Engagement team to provide high quality opportunities and create year-round volunteerism calendars. Track donor interests and engagement in our database.

Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

Relationship Management:
* Manage and cultivate relationships with portfolio of approximately 200 high net worth donors and prospects.
* Manage Priority Account Campaigns – current assignments include Bain Capital, Advent International, and Thomas H Lee Partners – through existing workplace campaigns
* Manage and support relationships with the Private Equity Leadership Council including recruiting new members, outreach to engage members and administrative support for all meetings and other Council activities
* Help team with prospect research and the identification of new opportunities

Project Management:
* Work with other cross functional team members to ensure that critical revenue generating activities are successfully executed in a timely manner
* Work closely with the Events and Marketing teams to plan and successfully execute the annual PE/VC Leadership Breakfast which is a core solicitation activity (includes management of event timelines, Council engagement, soliciting
* sponsorships,

Job Requirements

* Bachelor’s Degree and 2-3 years work experience (non-profit relationship management preferred; account management experience within a for profit setting considered)
* Intermediate to advanced level skills/experience with database systems preferred. United Way uses Andar for our donor data capture and reporting
* Excellent MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
* Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills
* Strong customer skills in person and on the phone
* Strong attention to detail and proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
* Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
* High-energy individual who takes initiative, has a positive outlook and has the ability to thrive in a changing environment
* Persistence and determination with corporate and individual outreach to meet goals
* Willingness to accommodate requests for support outside of regular business hours on occasion, with appropriate notice
* Sense of humor and the ability to have fun
