Job Description
Director level position responsible for driving the revenue growth, profitability, capabilities and customer satisfaction of the McGladrey Boston Infrastructure practice through effective participation in the following activities: (1) Sales and pre/post sales support, (2) project billing and delivery management, (3) solution development and (4) practice management. Position reports directly to Northeast IT Outsourcing Leader.Key responsibilities
Pre/Post Sales Support
- In coordination with other delivery resources, provide Sales and pre/post Sales support to help identify, qualify and close solution opportunities as depicted in the Business Plan for the fiscal year:
- Participate in client analysis and planning
- Participate in authoring marketing material
- Participate in forming general account sales approach and strategy
- Develop solution specific sales strategies and review with Sales to ensure proper execution
- Support sales in client meetings providing technical expertise and promoting business development
- Prepare business development opportunity assessments
- Develop and present solution presentations for client engagements
- Develop and submit estimates, proposals, statements of work and engagement letters for client opportunities
- Keep solutions pipeline up to date for all opportunities that you are currently working on in your practice space
- Follow National Consulting policies and procedures for deal approval
Project Billing and Delivery
- Strong subject matter expertise in the following infrastructure solutions:
- Network Infrastructure Design and Installation
- Ongoing Network Infrastructure Support and Administration
- Storage and Virtualization
- System Availability
- Technology Assessments including Infrastructure, High Availability,
Storage and Telecommunications
- WAN Analysis and Design
- Virtual Desktop Solutions
- Voice and Data Communication Systems
- Wireless WAN Design and Installation
- Managed Services
- Application Hosting and Management
- Cloud Based Infrastructure solutions
- Hardware sales
- Build and manage a practice with $3MM in revenue at a 55% gross margin on a yearly basis
- Ability to perform on-site client assessments to develop infrastructure and other technology strategies and roadmaps
- Maintain a personal client billing utilization as depicted in the business plan for the fiscal year :
- Maintain the utilization of all other practice consultants in your practice as depicted in the business plan for the fiscal year
- Position yourself as a delivery expert in the client eyes
- Identify, develop and launch teams to deliver infrastructure based solutions for our clients
- Expose technical complexities and risks with our proposed solutions gauging the potential impact they have on our projects and develop and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
- Identify and work to actively resolve project based issues
- Continuously improve our Infrastructure methodologies, solutions, the client engagement process, etc...
- Work closely with delivery to ensure that resources are properly distributed on projects and are capable of providing quality solutions to our clients
Solution Development
- Lead the development and promotion of solution offerings in the Infrastructure space
- In cooperation with other regional infrastructure delivery leaders and the National Leader for Infrastructure, develop and refine solution for the Infrastructure practice:
- New solutions offerings for business development
- Mature account strategy
- Develop solution presentations
- Marketing collateral
- McGladrey value propositions
- Solutions development standards and processes including refinement or creation of McGladrey methodologies in the Infrastructure space
Practice Management
- Manage and develop the practice by performing the following:
- Establish practice solutions as a profit center within McGladrey, Inc. and manage the practice as a business unit
- Set annual P&L goals with the IT Outsourcing Northeast leader
- Review and assess P&L achievements on a monthly basis
- Revise P&L goals on a quarterly basis, as required
- In coordination with Recruiting, assist in the selection and placement of the highest quality personnel in support of the practice.
- Conduct regular practice meetings with practice resources to encourage a sense of belonging, adjust and create practice specific strategies, network to find needed resources, etc..
- Provide career counseling and mentoring to junior members of the Infrastructure practice
- Review Infrastructure proposals, statement of work, engagement letters and client scope changes
- Review all client pricing/fee arrangements
- Participate as needed in Sales and operational meetings
- Write and deliver annual reviews for Infrastructure practice resources as assigned
- Identify and manage relationships with potential Infrastructure partners
- Develop and publish or present presentations, white papers and other intellectual property that will assist in marketing McGladrey services and/or refine McGladrey delivery capabilities in the Infrastructure space
- Maintain an understanding of where the trends in the infrastructure space are heading
- Serve as a role model to reinforce the use of infrastructure tools, methodologies and processes
Job Requirements
- 9+ years experience in enterprise infrastructure solutions with at least 3 of these years leading an infrastructure practice for a consulting firm
- Sales support and delivery experience
- Proven experience growing and scaling an infrastructure consulting practice
- Ability to travel freely within, to and from the USA and other countries
Soft Skills
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess excellent time management, communication, decision-making, human relations, presentation and organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, leadership skills combined with analytical capabilities and an open mind
- Willingness and ability to travel as required
- Superior professional presence and business acumen
Education/Experience
- Bachelors degree in MIS, CS, Engineering or equivalent field
- Masters degree is CS or MBA is preferred
- Infrastructure certifications (especially Cisco, Microsoft or VM) are a plus
