Metals USA; Trident Boston Division has an immediate career opportunity for an Inside Sales Representative in the Trident, MA location. An Inside Sales representatives (ISR) job is primarily a customer service function and entails selling or introducing represented products to established clients, in close conjunction with an outside sales representative. Customer interfacing includes requests for quotations, lead times, order placement, expediting, or changes, the building of quotations, writing orders and communicating pertinent information proactively back to customers. Additionally, an ISR handles the project execution actions and overall coordination of these service activities between the manufacturer and outside sales.
- Provide profitable transactional business through solicitation, quoting, email or other tools to grow the business
- Meet or exceed assigned sales goals for both product lines
- Learn competition to enhance your sales success.
- Assertively plan and execute your sales program in your territory.
- Act proactively to create opportunities for new business
- Interaction with Outside Sales, Quality Assurance and Purchasing
- Outbound and inbound account management.
- Coordinating with customer service for status on orders and expedite orders
- Customer service and problem
- Handling cancellations or changes in sales order and communicating the changes with the related departments.
- Emphasizing service or product features and benefits, discussing credit terms, quoting prices, preparing sales order reports or forms and enter sales orders.
- Inventory management
- Ensuring the delivery commitment to clients is met.
- Cooperating with Account Manager to determine strategic approaches for sales.
- Maintaining and expanding the database of prospects of the organization.
- Identify decision makers amongst the targeted leads in order to initiate sales process.
- Participating fully in product training sessions, meetings, skills training and professional development classes
Job Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 1-5 years of experience in Inside or Outside Sales in the metals industry with knowledge of sales/production/inventory control
- Must have a proven track record of inside sales experience and ability to drive net new business
- Two or more years of college preferred, with a degree in BA or Marketing a plus
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and problem solving.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access and Outlook)
- Must have results oriented skills and the entrepreneurial attitude to get the job done
- Proficient Data Entry skills
- Good organizational skills.
- Excellent telephone sales personality skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Highly energetic and self-starter.
- Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.
- Able to multi-task the activities with shifting priorities.
- A working knowledge of A/S 400 is a plus
