Responsibilities: Our client is seeking a Business Analyst for their Wellesley, Massachusetts (MA) location.Our clients Enterprise Medication Decision Support Services (EMEDS) group, part of the Clinical Systems Department at our client, is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, self-starter and seasoned analyst/specialist to join their team. The data repositories, software services and applications developed by EMEDS provide medication content, patient EMR data management, and sophisticated clinical decision support to a broad range of applications across the enterprise. Specific areas of focus are e-prescribing, patient allergy management, medication reconciliation, immunization management, and medication-related clinical decision support software services (SOA).The Applications/Services Analyst II will function as a business analyst, and will have knowledge and/or experience in medication workflow within clinical systems and EMRs S/he owns multiple analysis, support and/or project efforts of medium to high complexity. The individual is responsible for conducting planning, analytic, and design phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering. Preferably, this individual is a technically-focused business analyst and will be responsible for use case development, solutions design, and testing.This individual will coordinate with multiple stakeholders, analysts and developers in EMEDS and other IS departments, including relevant eCare groups. The individual will be able to spearhead various projects, and will on occasion help with some project management responsibilities.The work performed by the individual will primarily be to support EMEDS initiatives. These projects will be delivered across the enterprise and include such efforts as Consolidated Medication List Viewer, patient safety interventions, enterprise repositories (e.g., Allergies and Immunizations), projects as required for certification and Meaningful Use for clinical systemJob Requirements
Responsibilities:- Demonstrates prior knowledge of clinical/medication workflow; incorporates into design, implementation, support, and enhancements of medication services
- Analyze existing information systems, understand application workflow, gather capability requirements, design and test software solutions
- Partners with Project Manager(s) to drive project(s) to successful completion, leveraging knowledge of the technology/business process/domain that is used to provide the solution
- Works closely with the developers and project managers during solution identification and creation
- Creates business services specifications; helps translate those specifications to technical requirements
- Independently creates and executes test plans
- Prepares written materials for use in presentations, meetings and final project documentation
- Project management for small-size projects
- Other duties as needed, including support of EMEDS services
- Bachelors degree required; advanced degree and/or training in related field desired
- Experience in a clinical or clinical systems environment, or working with healthcare data
- 5+ years of related analytical, systems support, informatics, or medication decision support services support experience
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
