Job Description

Job Title: Hyperion Administrator
Location: Boston, MA - 02109
Duration: 6 months (possible extension)

Summary:

This position supports DI senior financial management and its operating and investment groups by providing database system technical expertise and financial analysis. Position includes interaction with DI business units and operating companies, as well as functional groups including accounting, treasury, tax, legal and business development.

 

Devonshire Investors (DI) is the strategic investment arm of Fidelity Investments and manages a global portfolio of businesses in a variety of industries that include building supplies, information and communication technology, real estate, private equity and natural resources

Responsibilities:

• Database system-related
  • Responsible for system administration and first level application support for Hyperion platform
  • Act as business liaison for triaging and managing application issues and enhancement requests
  • Provide consultative services to a diverse group of businesses to optimize system utilization
  • Perform complex problem solving; develop creative, innovative solutions to enhance financial reporting creation and workflow
  • Create and maintain complex Hyperion scripts based on business requirements

 

• Financial analysis-related
  • Support operating companies and functional holding company staff in development of annual strategic and operating plans designed to rapidly scale existing businesses and improve operating results
  • Understand key drivers/metrics for revenue growth, profitability, cost structure and value creation across DI as well as for specific investments and operating companies
  • Participate in developing the DI business plan, preparing financial/cash flow forecasts and budgets and preparing related presentations to DI executive management

Education and Experience

• 2+ Years’ experience with Hyperion Planning (version 11.x) and Essbase (version 11.x or higher).
• Experience in Hyperion trouble shooting, tuning, disaster recovery, backup and restore.
• Experience with Planning, Financial Reporting and Smartview.
• Experience with financial systems and procedures, data verification and a solid understanding of financial statements and concepts.
• Experience with maintaining BSO cubes and optimizing BSO cubes.
• Experience with use of sparse/dense dimensionality concepts, attribute dimensions, calculation scripts, load rules and MAXL commands.
• Experience with financial systems and procedures, data verification and a solid understanding of financial statements and concepts.
