Description:

 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to lead a small but highly skilled group in meeting a demanding schedule of new product test development and qualification activities. Provide project management and technical support for power products, including project test development, alternative development, equipment selection, construction oversight, environmental oversight, and other activities required as a full service team leader. Analyze data derived from pilot scale runs that are intended to identify test plan and specification problems before products are released to contract manufacturing. Lead projects spanning several departments and cross-functional areas. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Designs ATE, Subassembly, and Burn-in test solutions for power products. Creates detailed schematics, BOMs, and other documents per Murata-PS guidelines. 
• Designs and implements new test solutions that meet both manufacturing and customer requirements.
• Creates project proposals and maintains project plans. Determines scope, timeframe, funding requirements and availability of resources in various phases of each project. Provides risk management and project status reports.
• Directs and coordinates activities of test development team and required support areas to ensure project accomplishes technical objectives on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Provides technical leadership to other test engineers and technicians.
• Coordinates product characterization activities and resources.
• Initiates product and test specifications changes based on qualification results.
• Acts as liaison between test engineering and engineering.
• Handles equipment replacement and upgrades.
• Prepares work instructions, procedures, and test plans.
• Prepares reports, charts, and diagrams to disclose results and highlight areas for further improvement.
• Reports directly to and communicates with the Global Test Engineering Manager.
• Prepares required reports pertaining to accomplishments, project status, and new objectives.
• Provides performance reviews for group members.

Job Requirements

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 5+ years test system development experience with 2 years supervisory experience.
• Sound knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
• Experience with MS Projects.
• Experience with programming such as Visual Basic and LabView preferred.
• Experience with Metro Graphics PADS Schematic Capture tools preferred.
• Experience with FMEA and Gage R&R methods preferred.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Controls and Statistical Sampling techniques.
• Familiarity with instrumentation communication such as RS485, RS232, and IEEE-488.
• Familiarity with NH Research and/or Chroma ATE systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with standard communication protocols such as SMBus, PMBus, and Modbus are a plus.

 

Travel Requirements:

• This position requires some domestic and overseas travel.
