Senior Cloud Security & Compliance Engineer at Burlington

Responsibilities

Verizon is hiring an experienced senior security engineer. The position will provide technical information security leadership and serve as a subject matter expert on information security and associated compliance initiatives. A qualified candidate will have deep experience with the assessment, implementation, management and documentation of a broad set of information security technologies and processes within a SaaS or cloud environment. The candidate will work with internal and external stakeholders to implement and manage a strong integrated security posture in addition to serving as a technical escalation point for all security issues.

Responsibilities include:

Security Systems Operations & Engineering. Ensure that the security of all systems is actively maintained and hardened against industry, legal and compliance standards.

Access Control & Credential Security Management. Ensure that all access controls are implemented, maintained and monitored through a secure methodology that supports operational & security compliance requirements.

Security Advisory Assessment. Assess vendor and industry security advisories to manage the risk profile of the systems.

Vulnerability Management. Continually assess the systems against potential threats and vulnerabilities. Ensure that vulnerabilities are mitigated in a timely fashion in accordance with the applicable compliance requirements.

Intrusion Detection and Mitigation. Implement and manage an intrusion detection system. Ensure that the IDS supports an integrated approach to security monitoring and management.

Incident Response. Support incident response for all security-related issues. Drive issues to a timely resolution and ensure that all lessons learned are used to improve the overall security posture. The position will be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Qualifications

Experience in the implementation and management of both offensive and defensive security technologies in conjunction with commercial and federal information security compliance initiatives. Excellent technical communication skills. CISSP, CCIE or other security certifications are recommended.
