C++ Developer

A Kforce client is looking for a C++ Developer to work in their Boston, Massachusetts area Company.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Analyze existing system components in order to develop a complete understanding of the architecture and flow of control
* Perform performance monitoring and tuning of the application
* Identify and communicate system deficiencies to improve performance and scalability
* Collaborate in the system design to perform required functions
* Implement application code for new and modified components to meet business, operational, and performance requirements efficiently
* Produce components that adhere to internal standards, are reliable, and easily maintained
* Develop unit test plans that will thoroughly exercise component logic to ensure adherence to requirements
* Execute unit test plans, document test results, and resolve discrepancies as deemed appropriate
* Prepare for and participate in walk-throughs of design specifications, source code, and all technical and supporting documentation and provide meaningful feedback in accordance with departmental standards and guidelines
* Suggest enhancements to current standards
* Assist in production support activities; resolving production issues quickly and effectively
* Assist in the development and management of project plans
* Analyze and classify change requests; identify and document scope of change and impact on a project

The successful Developer applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
* 4+ years of practical experience in the development and maintenance of multi-threaded C++ application programs in UNIX and Linux environments
* 4+ years of practical experience in the analysis and design of system applications
* Experience with analyzing and deconstructing complex software systems without the support of system documentation
* Experience with message queuing, streaming and inter-process communication required
* Experience with Java is highly desirable
* Experience with Oracle Databases is desirable
* Experience with Perl is desirable
