Linux Systems Administrator

We have an immediate need for an Operational Support Systems (OSS) Engineer, to manage, maintain, and administer a number of business critical systems here at Navisite. These systems will include the BMC Atrium CMDB, BMC ADDM, as well as the BMC ITSM product suite.

The candidate should have direct experience with Service Desk and Configuration Management systems, preferably in a high-volume, service provider environment.

Configuration and administration of auto-discovery, CMDB data population and reconciliation, as well as modeling Configuration Item (CI) data are among the expected skills. Capabilities should extend to OS-level administration (Linux), exposure with relational databases, and strong troubleshooting skills.

For the right candidate, this role may expand into other OSS areas, including Fault and Performance management systems.

Required Experience:

- 3+ Years with Auto Discovery platforms

- 3+ Years with CMDB systems, structure, and data reconciliation

- 2+ Years with ITSM systems, administration and troubleshooting

- Strong Linux/UNIX experience

- Solid Oracle experience, from an administration perspective

- Strong written and verbal skills

- Professional and takes ownership

Additional Desired Experience:

- Scripting experience (sh, Perl, Python, Ruby, PL/SQL)

- Experience with Tideway Query Language

- Service Provider exposure, familiar with functions within OSS/BSS and ITIL

- Experience with use and management of Cloud/Virtualized environments
