Overview

TJX has a tremendous opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer (Sr. Systems Consultant) that has a previous background developing enterprise ECommerce software to take that knowledge and build on it. You will be an important part of building out our development team.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrated technical expertise in the architecture and implementation of large scale ecommerce applications and systems which support corporate and/or retail operations
• Ability to adapt easily to changing requirements and priorities
• Requires thorough understanding of the systems development life cycle
• Requires a highly developed level of technical expertise, along with an ability to identify and incorporate innovative technical solutions during system design and architecture phases
• Excellent verbal and written technical and business communication skills
• Collaborating with the team to design the back end systems to support new features as they emerge. Candidate will also work closely with product management in both leveraging technology to create the best user experience possible and in planning development increments.
• Will provide both architecture feedback and specific requirements

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science
• 8+ years working with design and implementation of systems supporting retail and/or corporate business operations
• Experience in building Java based High-volume/High-transaction ECommerce applications web applications using ATG commerce platform
• Experience with FE technologies such as Ajax Java / JSPs, Struts
• Use of CSS, HTML, DHTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript and Multi browser support
• Comprehensive SDLC experience including: o Agile implementation principles and practices o Use of version control management such of SVN, CVS, Clearcase, or perforce. o Testing *through* presentation tier in a portal environment with Junit or xUnit testing frameworks. o Production environment deployment and maintenance
• Experience in similar roles at prominent Internet companies, with detailed knowledge about scaling issues and solutions
• Ability to work in an unstructured, fast-paced environment

• Understanding of logistics systems (JDE) inbound supply chain
• Capacity planning and Performance tuning
• Fulfillment and payments systems
• Understanding of Fault Tolerant systems
