Job Description

Milton CAT is the exclusive distributor of Caterpillar earthmoving and construction machinery and power systems products in the Northeast. Headquartered in Milford MA, the Milton CAT team has over 950 dedicated and experienced employees working from 13 well-equipped locations in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, and upstate New York. Milton CAT serves customers in light to heavy construction, forestry, agriculture, governmental, paving, scrap, demolition, and waste markets as well as providing power for the marine, heavy truck and power generation industries.



Description


Milton CAT is seeking an experienced Inside Sales Representative. Responsibilities include developing new accounts as well as reestablishing, qualifying and maintaining contact with small to medium sized customers and prospects to increase sales of parts and service solutions and to sell/rent equipment to retail customers. Contact is made with customers via the telephone, email, direct mail and other promotional campaigns. Support revenue generation goals by teaming with field sales to sell Milton CAT products, which include qualifying, quoting and closing the sale.


Essential Duties



  • Proactively manage an account base within an assigned territory for product support using the telephone as your primary tool.
  • Through disciplined communication, you will qualify accounts, update customers complete account information, and begin to develop the relationship. You will manage retail customers through the sales cycle.
  • Maintain call cycle, taking into account the diverse customer base realize that some customers may require contact on either a weekly, monthly, or semi-annual basis.
  • Maintain accurate customer account information and machine population. Actively target specific accounts for sales promotions and tracking of specific account and territory goals.
  • Promote Dealership services by selling parts, service labor, and Customer Support Agreements, in addition to selling or renting equipment and work tools.
  • Develop and qualify equipment and/or parts and service leads and team with the outside sales force to close the deal.
  • Ability to effectively manage time while building relationships with accounts. Ability to work well with fellow employees is critical to success.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.



  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
  • Associate Degree in Business, Marketing or other technical related field.
  • Minimum of two years successful sales experience.
  • Must be proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Familiar with Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • Ability to assess customer needs and evaluate customer satisfaction.
  • Previous phone sales experience.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills.
  • Must have strong problem solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic fast service environment.

Preferred Skills and Competencies



  • Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction machinery and its applications by our customers a plus.
