Sales Manager, Wholesale at Boston

Relocation not required, this is a home based position that will require 50% travel

Job Summary:

Leads and executes Wholesale channel/ account strategy for assigned accounts in order to meet & exceed sales and profitability plans. Specific focus on meeting customer business plans by directing sales team members. Implements and guides effective relationship engagement plans with assigned retailers in support of sales development strategies. Works with all areas of the business to understand the needs as well as the "best practices" for each area. External relationship building within channel/ accounts to drive profitability and sales for YCC and accounts. . In specific, this position will:

  • Nurture customer/operations relationships through appropriate customer meetings. Understand major customer execution strategies and decision making process and be an advocate for them inside YCC.
  • Ensure alignment and accountability with both Broker and Direct Sales Force.
  • Create effective sales/marketing strategies across assigned accounts to achieve all Wholesale sales & revenue goals, while creating & leading dedicated, retail focused, customer teams for major accounts. Develop strategic customer business plans for channels/accounts.
  • Implement best practice category management initiatives focused on shopper insight development and activation. Analyze & monitor performance vs metrics & adjust strategies & tactical execution as necessary.
  • Continuously assesses execution performance and coach team/broker to improve/course correct to ensure delivery of net sales growth, drive independent retailers growth and success.
  • Work frequently with team to assess performance, coach and develop through meetings and field contacts and strategic meetings.
  • Spend time in stores and at customer with and without team to assess execution levels and provide feedback.

Includes Internal organization and 3rd party services Hire, train and motivate critical team support functions to ensure successful implementation of customer specific business plans

  • Develop and implement customer specific retail execution plans that ensure all retail sales and profit metrics are achieved. Ensure that customer specific input is provided through the Integrated Marketing function in support of the development of all corporate, brand and marketing strategies. Develop and help manage the Customer P&Ls for channels/accounts to ensure that YCC profitability goals are achieved.
  • Build effective relationships with peers and customers via industry associations and networking with other companies in home space

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred and a minimum of 5 years of successful and progressive sales management experience. Experience with independent retailers preferred
  • Proven Sales Management experience managing 3rd party vendors and sales rep groups.
  • Solid leadership ability with demonstrated success managing, cultivating and developing relationships.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and listening skills; as well as the ability to act with Diplomacy.
  • A pro-active, team player who thrives in a goal-oriented, dynamic and ever changing work environment.


Flexibility in work schedule is required including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operational need may require. This is a home-based position that will require 50% travel.
