An opportunity exists within the Missile Radar Software Department in Woburn, Massachusetts with the Radar Software Development and/or Integration team. The Missile Defense Radar Software Department mission is to provide world class X-band Radar Software to be used in the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and other software related to Missile Defense Systems. Job Description: Candidate will be an integral part of the Radar Software team as a developer,test, validation and verification engineer. The candidate will be responsible for real-time software development, verification for embedded Radar algorithms, including test planning, development and execution. The Radar SW application is built on a Rational APEX and/or ClearCase environment, specifically using a Linux/UNIX (Redhat, HPUX and Solaris9) platform, utilizing Ada95 and some C/C++ programming languages. The candidatewill apply technical principles, theories, and concepts, contribute to the development of new principles and concepts, work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious, working under consultative direction or independently toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives, assignments are often self initiated, determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.

This position can be a Salary Grade E03 or Salary Grade E04 based on the candidates qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design & develop real-time software for controling Balistic Missile Defense Systems. Support generation of documentation to include: software test descriptions, software test plans, and software test reports (to include Test Conductor Reports, i.e., TCRs)

  • Analyze system performance vs. technical requirements, research and make SW/Systems improvement recommendations

  • Presentations of tests to customers

  • Lead a small team of engineers, managing cost and schedule

    Basic Requirements:

    B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics

  • 4+ Years of overall experience in a SW Verification role

  • Experience writing MATLAB scripts

  • Ada, C or C++ Programming Experience

  • Experience using Unix or Linux Operating Systems

    Desired Requirements:

  • Self - starting team player who achieves goals and continuous improvement

  • Familiarity with the following SW Tools: Rational Apex for Ada, ClearCase, DOORS

  • Radar domain knowledge

    • Ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance is required.
