Manufacturing, Technical Lead  (Plastics Injection Molding)

 

We currently seek a Technical Lead for our Leominster Massachusetts Manufacturing facility. In this role you will develop and guide the manufacturing technical team and provide recommendations and implement improvements for manufacturing processes.  Act as Technical lead for RJG integration & use in Manufacturing.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Interact with the Engineering group to pull in programs under development and ensure a successful conversion during release to manufacturing.
  • Provide leadership to the technical manufacturing team and assume responsibility for the quality, effectiveness, and progress of the department.
  • Responsible for planning coordinating and executing OQ/PQ validation, new mold trials and all testing.
  • Develop and foster team building at the organizational level by coaching and support supervisors.
  • Recommend and improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency. 
  • Participate in Tool Design Reviews and recommend improvements to optimize molding, setup, and overall manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot molding and manufacturing processes and material issues. Work with internal and external resources to resolve molding and manufacturing issues and implement long term solutions. 
  • Research, develop, and implement manufacturing process controls, machinery modifications and improvements.
  • Develop Manufacturing systems and continuously improve them within a cGMP environment.
  • Innovate and implement solutions to meet cost, quality and delivery objectives.
  • Validate equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes
  • Lead the implementation of technical solutions for manufacturing processes that provide cost reduction while meeting quality objectives.

 

Job Requirements

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Plastics
  • 5+ years hands on experience in plastics injection molding with an understanding of decoupled molding and scientific molding processes.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent people and communication skills. 
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong team player, self motivated.
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment in analyzing, evaluating and solving problems.
