Job Description



Special Education Teacher

Delta-T Group, (Delta-T) provides staffing of licensed and non-licensed professionals of varying degree and skill levels in the fields of social services, psychiatry, mental health, addictions treatment, education, allied therapies, and radiology.  The Companys primary customers are hospitals, community mental health centers, outpatient treatment facilities, schools, and residential homes. Delta-T has been staffing for over 20 years and currently has offices across the US.

 

 


 

Delta-T Group is currently looking to place a Special Education Teacher in the Worcester, MA to teach MATH to grades 5 – 12.

 

The Special Education Teacher is accountable for assuming the responsibility for delivering high quality instructional experience through creativity, resourcefulness, student-centered meaningful objectives, and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks, standards, and the rules and regulations.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for serving as a member of the Special Education Team in writing educational plans and progress reports on SAGE-IEP, and completing assessments within the required timelines
  • Responsible for following the student IEP and ensuring compliance with state and federal SPED regulations including the delivery of high quality services, the provision of accommodations/modifications for instruction and assessment and implementation of BIPs.
  • Responsible for working in conjunction and communicating with itinerant staff (OT,PT Speech and Assistive technologists) to provide a continuation of skill development outside of direct teaching by itinerant staff.  
  • Responsible for promoting students independence in behaving in a safe, respectful, and age appropriate manner.
  • Responsible for remaining up to date on Best Practices regarding curriculum content that is meaningful and beneficial to increase skills to prepare individuals for maximum independence.
  • Responsible for modifying and adapting materials, instructional lessons, etc. to meet the specific needs of students with disabilities as identified in the IEP’s. Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement.
  • Performance of other job related duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements



Required Qualifications:

  • Appropriate Teacher Licensure (Sp.Ed Moderate and Severe)

 

  • Bachelors of Arts in Special Education (Masters Preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advance educational preparation in the discipline
  • Teaching experience in the discipline
  • SEI Training
  • Bilingual Skills
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with Special Needs
