Loan Processor and Mortgage Underwriting Positions at Boston

Job Description

Our client- a large nationwide lender has multiple mortgage positions with immediate need. They are looking to bring on Loan Processors, Underwriters, Credit Analysts and Administrative assistants with lending experience. 

 

Job Requirements

 Underwriter

 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Reviewing, examining and underwriting loans to ensure soundness, accuracy, business value and compliance with the standards of both Leader Bank and our corresponding investors
  • Evaluating debt ratio, loan-to-value ratios, credit score, property valuation and various other factors (including risk issues and potential fraud)
  • Assisting in identifying, recommending and/or negotiating alternative loan requirements, funding and/or loan-structuring solutions
  • Reviewing and analyzing special conditions, loan deficiencies and exception requests to determine the appropriate action
  • Coaching field personnel and brokers on technical underwriting issues, problems and/or questions
  • Regularly exercising discretion and independent judgment in addressing critical business-matters that have a significant financial impact

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years underwriting experience
  • Experience in underwriting FHA loans required
  • Understand the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive and technological environments which potentially affect various real-estate lending programs
  • Flourish in a fast-paced inside sales workplace environment
  • Possess extensive understanding of underwriting systems and their components
  • Strong computer-skills, Calyx point a plus
  • Advanced customer-interface skills
  • Possess excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)


Loan Processor

 

  • Review Consumer and Commercial Loan documentation packages for booking purposes and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures that loan approval is in compliance with departmental and bank policies.
  • Ensures that the loans and escrow are setup timely and accurately.
  • Ensures that loan origination suspense items are timely cleared.
  • Ensures that required tax record is setup on timely manner with 3rd party vendor.
  • Reviews loan modification documentation packages to ensure accuracy, completeness and approval compliance with department and bank policies.
  • Assists in the maintenance of loan billing and other information as needed.
  • Assists management with loan booking exception reporting.
  • Assists management with loan booking training guidelines and updating of department procedures.
  • Assists with the setup and filing of legal documentation.
  • Monitors and/or ensures compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations; including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering, in addition to, Bank operation policies and procedures.
  • Assists department in any other project as needed.
  • Performs additional duties as requested.
