Job Description

This position is within Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM) Wells Capital Management (WellsCap). As a Trading Operations Specialist, you will operate in a fast paced, high risk, deadline driven environment to expedite securities lending transactions between portfolio traders and broker dealers.Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: Act as primary liaison for post-trade confirmation of trade details with brokers. Ensure that all executed trades result in the issuance of a broker trade confirmation for each account allocation. Typically performed electronically utilizing the user interface of a third-party post-trade communications provider. May be manual in some cases. Act as primary liaison for communication of trade allocation details to custodians and other interested parties (e.g., fund accountants). Ensure that all confirmed trades are affirmed with the appropriate custodian and communicated to other interested parties. Performed electronically utilizing the user interface of a proprietary or third-party trade messaging application. Interact with securities traders, brokers and custodian banks to coordinate timely resolution of trade problems. Determine the cause of mis-matched trades between brokers and custodians and work with the appropriate party to bring the trade details into agreement. Coordinate cancel/re-books with traders. Ensure that all issues necessary for successful settlement are resolved. Identify, document and report failed trades. Monitor the status of failed trades utilizing an Excel based Settlements Tracker or third-party fails management system. Keep management apprised of progress on aged fails.Principal Working Relationships:Daily contact with portfolio managers, traders, analysts, brokers and custodians to facilitate the settlement of trades. Contact with clients to provide specific information as needed. Frequent contact with operations and technology teams to resolve securities settlement and pricing problems.

Job Requirements

* Basic Qualifications:
5+ years investment operations experience.

* Minimum Qualifications:
Familiarity with cash (domestic and international) and physical securities (DTC) settlements. Solid understanding of U.S. commodity, equity and interest rate markets. Ability to review and understand ISDA Master and Credit Support Annex agreements. High degree of accuracy. A quick learner, comfortable with and able to manage complex trading systems and environments. Strong customer orientation, internal and external, with a commitment to quality, accuracy and efficiency. Strong organizational and detail oriented skills, with proven ability to manage and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Strong computer skills including MS Office, Word, MS Outlook and Excel.
