The Telecommunication Analyst / Network Analyst / Network Administrator is responsible for supporting voice/data communications. The analyst strives to provide all approved users with uninterrupted access to network resources at all office locations, via wireless, Internet or dial up. The analyst acts as the liaison between outside organizations and approved enterprise users. The analyst will be responsible for investigating and tracking changes in technology and vendors and for helping reduce the cost surrounding voice communication.

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Manage/configures routers, switches and all related WAN equipment.
  • Monitors WAN for outages and works with vendors to resolve all issues.
  • Acts as primary interface with equipment vendors for resolving problems
  • Runs/verifies output from logs and bandwidth enforcement programs.
  • Provides planning and technical support for installations.
  • Maintains current knowledge of overall voice communication vendor capabilities.
  • Analyze the companies voice communication cost and work with vendors to find alternatives to reduce cost.
  • Track usage of the company’s mobile cell devices to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review Capital Expenditure Request for new phone systems and make recommendations on systems and features.
  • 10.  Administer the companies VOIP phone system.

    11.  Review voice communication proposals/contracts for all Corporation locations.

    12.  Assist in the creation of voice communication RFP’s, review responses and make recommendations.

     

     

    Position Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of telecom systems, dial plans, switching architectures, telephony and wiring.
  • Detailed knowledge of voice communication includes but not limited to local, long distance and cellular.
  • Technical knowledge and aptitude in the areas of VOIP networks, network topologies, telecommunications (configuration and connectivity), network servers, applicable software, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to understand and assist in solving telecommunication problems and network infrastructure issues.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs.
  • Basic understanding of the enterprise business and business processes; awareness of business unit functions and cross-group dependencies/relationships.
  • Experience in using Cisco IOS.
  • 3+ years’ experience with wide and local area networks
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the voice communication fields
  • 10.  Experience negotiating contracts

    11.  2 years working with a VOIP phone system

    12.  Ability to communicate effectively and to deal with vendors
