Summary:  Achieve Sales results in a given geographical area.  Uphold company policies, procedures, and image.  Work with distributor network, and territory managers, run training programs, and attend courses, shows, and conventions in order to establish product usage. 

Job Requirements


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Achieve sales goals, formulate and maintain DEAs and set up distribution. Hit target sales numbers, focus distributor reps by working in the field with each distributor per quarter.  Initiate disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Adhere to all cGMP and EN/ISO 9001 administrative responsibilities.  Properly report field incidences and generate weekly reports to establish trends, etc.  Also establish computer reports, trend analysis, field trip reports.
  • Maintain regional sales samples and company property.  Make sure equipment, lot control numbers, condition and safety is accounted for.  Create programs to insure win-win situations.
  • Establish rapport with key surgeons and institutions in the area (target establishing).  Seed product champions, competitive trends analysis, new applications and procedures, etc.
  • Assist in creating successful sales promotional and marketing campaigns.
  • Work closely with doctors, nurses, administrators, and distributor network, tying them all together.  Ensure that all responsibilities within the scope of this job comply with the scope of the ArthroCare Quality System.
  • Some pricing, allocation, distributor selection.  Quality deferment to handle through normal procedures.
  • Volume pricing, penetrations, usage, budgeting.


Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Requires 8 years’ sales experience; 5 years in a management role and bachelor’s degree.
  • Medical devices industry experience preferred. 
  • Selling skills, product training, sales and marketing management principles. 
  • Master s degree preferred.
