Job Description
Olympus NDT is seeking an entry level sales engineer to join the Product Marketing team. This position is for technical inside sales. The sales engineer will work closely with both the outside sales force and customers, serving as a primary resource for technical knowledge within the sales process. Based on a detailed understanding of our products, the sales engineer will develop customer relations and assist our customers in selecting the right tools to perform their research, development, or operations.
The sales engineers primary responsibilities include direct quotation of customers, sales administration, applications support, and trouble shooting post-sales inquiries.Customer interaction will be frequent and can range from purchasers and manufacturing floor operators to CEOs and PhDs.
The sales engineer will also provide market feedback to product management in support of future product development.
Job Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES- Work with customers to drive orders/sales in product group.
- Identify opportunities and assist global sales force in closing sales.
- Provide application assistance to new and existing customers.
- Travel for customer visits, training, and tradeshows.
- Work with the team on concepts and definitions for hardware/software product developments.
- Support engineering with product evaluation and test.
- Respond to requests for technical information, leads, quotes, and orders.
- Assist in competitive analysis of product offerings and market trends.
- Provide support to other product lines and customer service as needed.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office.
- May require extensive travel
- B.S. Engineering or Technical Degree Preferred
- ENTRY LEVEL: 0-2 years experience in technical sales.
