Distribution Team Lead at Taunton

Job Description

Distribution Team LeadThe business Area Leader is responsible for the overall operations of a specific Distribution are. Their role is to enhance the overall efficiency of the department by the timely delivery of materials and employee management.

Primary Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the overall day-to-day performance and profitability of their specific department. Is the key contact person for other departments.
  • Sets goals for the departments future in both the short and long term and works with team to reach them. Responsible for communicating the company and department goals to all employees.
  • Responsible for knowing, teaching, following, and enforcing all safety regulations and policies. Works with the safety department on any areas of concern.
  • Works with the Department and Shift Manager to establish future direction and profitability goals for the continued success of the department. Work with internal business partners, vendors, and supplies to develop ideas, reduce costs, improve shift performance, and retain employees.
  • Participates in LEAN training and activities, maintains high degree of technical knowledge of our capabilities, teaches classes, trains and develops employees, and works with business partners on educational materials and training process. Strives and seeks out opportunities for personal development.
  • Conducts disciplinary actions. Conducts evaluations, reviews and makes wage decisions for employees reporting to them. Has input into hire/fire decisions but does not make final decision.

Job Requirements

Distribution Team Lead
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Successful completion of Quad/Graphics Powered Industrial Vehicle Training & Assessments
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move 10-15 lbs continuously, and lift and/or move up to 70 lbs occasionally. Candidates must be able to bend, step, and lift constantly, performing repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Prior Distribution experience preferred
  • If no prior Distribution experience, then internal Quad leadership experience preferred
  • Have strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Have professional phone skills to communicate to internal departments and external customers
  • Proficient understanding of department programs, applications, and computer operating systems
  • Works well under pressure, approachable to employees, promotes teamwork, and company policies
