Role & Function

Management of all ramp training requirements along with managing the station safety program To train personnel in the areas of the companys standard operating procedures, occupational safety, health, regulatory compliance and environmental concerns so they provide the highest quality of service, safely and professionally and to assist the Ramp Manager in the coordination of all daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure adherence to company safety policies, standards and procedures.
  • Conduct all initial orientation training for newly hired personnel.
  • Conduct carrier specific training.
  • Schedule and conduct equipment certification/recertification.
  • Schedule and conduct recurrent training classes.
  • Maintain employee training records.
  • Safeguarding of all data related to employee training files.
  • Conduct internal and regulatory audits of the operation.
  • Conduct monthly safety committee meetings and represent the station.
  • Ensure frequent and comprehensive safety communications for all employees to include SafeTalk, daily briefings, safety alerts and safety newsletters.
  • Participate in meetings internally and externally as may be required.
  • Prepare internal and external reports as required for compliance with company directives and safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure proper reporting, investigation and corrective action for vehicle accidents, occupational injury claims, property damage and near-miss incidents.
  • Manage and maintain the stations Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO as required by the companys ISO 9001 certificate.
  • Promote the continuous improvement of all station services and operational performance.
  • Establish strong leadership with all supervisors and employees through excellent communication skills and a positive work environment.
  • All other duties as may be required.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree a plus, but not required.
  • 3-5 years of managerial experience in the ground handling operations with strong focus on procedural compliance, safety practices and continuous improvement processes.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Highly motivated self-starter, who can effectively prioritize, multi-task and manage to accomplish objectives within prescribed deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of ground handling operations and services.
  • Outstanding communication skills including written, oral, interpersonal and presentation.
  • Ability to be "on call" 24/7 for emergencies.
  • The nature of this position demands discretion, good judgment and prompt, accurate decision-making, as well as the management of complex situations.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to speak in public.

Salary commensurate with experience. Selection will be based on candidate qualifications, company requirements and individual assessment results.
