Position Overview:

Analyst II provides projectsupport to directors directing work of a project team. Works collaboratively with the project team researching the development and evaluation of policies and interventions to improve the cost, quality, and access of the U.S. health care system, and improve population and employee health. Assists in communicating findings through reports and peer review journal articles and manages proposal development efforts. Clients include Federal and state governments and Fortune 500 companies.

Essential Responsibilities:

    • Executes methodologies defined by research director using SAS/STATA or Microsoft Excel. May include creating analysis specifications and table shells for programmers.
    • Develops and executes quality checking protocol to assess data quality and/or ensure integrity of conducted analyses.
    • Performs reviews of literature and summarize relevant information.
    • Collects materials, creates diagrams and tables, and drafts background sections of project proposals. Develops ability to manage proposal efforts and contribute to all sections of the response.
    • Researches and culls diagnostic information required to perform administrative claims studies. Augments project specifications with this information.
    • Prepares materials for databases, tables, and papers.
    • Develops research presentations (reports, technical memoranda, posters, podium presentations, and manuscripts).
    • Other project-specific activities as directed by Project Director.
    Required Skills and Experience
    • Statistical background (coursework plus 1-2 years of experience in quantitative analysis).
    • Proficiency in statistical software packages (SAS/STATA).
    • Advanced user of Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at various levels within the organization.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Time management skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously, while completing work within allocated time frames.
    • Good critical thinking, questioning, and listening skills.
    Education / Certifications Required -
    • Masters degree in biostatistics, health economics, health services research or similar research-related field. Additional years of experience a plus.
